This article is specifically about Rheaplyβs inventory management app, Visibility (root.rheaply.com), and may not be relevant if your organization is not using that functionality.
At the foundation of our inventory management functionality on Rheaply are products and items. A product represents the data that doesnβt change about an asset, like the manufacturer, model number, category, or dimensions. An item represents a single, physical instance of a product in the real world, and all of the dynamic data about it, like status, condition, and location.
Products also help you update items efficiently by passing on specific properties to items within your inventory; attributes that are at the product level apply to all associated items, while other attributes apply to a specific item only.
You can add Products directly to the platform with the Create product workflow, or by importing your products via spreadsheet.

Who can do this?
If your organization has access to our Inventory functionality, then any user with an Inventory role can interact with products. For a more specific breakdown of abilities based on user role, see our Product permissions section below.
Where is it done?
Create a product
Before creating a new product, it is best practice to search your inventory to make sure the product doesnβt already exist. If it does, you can simply add the items you need to that product.
To create a new product:
Click the + icon in the top right, then click Create product to navigate to root.rheaply.com/create/product/
Enter your product details. Note that there are only 2 required fields: Title and Category.
Fill out any additional info youβd like to track or add a photo, then click Create product. All done π₯³
From here, you can choose to add items to this product or come back and add them later.
View a product
Navigate to Inventory (root.rheaply.com/inventory).
Apply filters or the keyword search as needed.
Click on one of the products to view its details and items.
Edit a product
Navigate to Inventory (root.rheaply.com/inventory) and search for the product youβd like to edit.
Click on the product, then click Edit at the top of the page.
Make any changes needed, then hit Update.
Delete a product
You can only delete products that have no items. If you need to delete items, please refer to our items help article. Otherwise, here is how to delete an itemless product:
Navigate to Inventory (root.rheaply.com/inventory) and search for the product youβd like to edit.
Click on the product, then click Delete at the top of the page.
Confirm the deletion, and your product will be deleted.
Deleted products will not show up in Inventory, but you can restore them if you need. Learn how to restore a deleted product below.
Restore a deleted product
If you accidentally deleted a product and need to restore it, follow these steps:
Navigate to Deleted in the toolbar (https://root.rheaply.com/deleted)
Search, sort, and filter to find the product youβd like to restore.
Click Restore on the product (or click through, then click Restore).
The product will immediately be restored and shown in the Inventory.
